The Bands Clash, however, is more than just a musical talent show; it is a platform designed to promote and celebrate the diversity and creativity of local musicians. According to the event’s Facebook page, the Bands Clash underscores the importance of providing a space for emerging artists to showcase their talents, connect with their audience, and gain recognition for their hard work.

It aims to inspire and empower performers to pursue their passion for music, and to contribute to the cultural and social landscape of the city. By promoting the arts and creating opportunities for local musicians to shine, the event organizers hope to build a vibrant and supportive community that values and celebrates creativity in all its forms.

The Bands Clash also fosters a sense of community in performers and music lovers alike. By bringing together like-minded individuals who share a love of music, the event creates a space for collaboration, networking, and mutual support. This not only helps to build a stronger local music scene but also contributes to the overall well-being and vitality of the community as a whole.

The competition is open to all amateur and professional bands, consisting of five to 10 members who are Filipino citizens 16 years old and above.

However, the majority of the band members should be born or residing in Davao City for at least one year, that’s why band members must submit their PSA birth certificates, barangay clearance, and ID with address.

The deadline for submission is at 11:59 pm on February 24, 2023. Failure to submit all requirements on time will result in disqualification.

Each band must submit a filled-up application form and a clear, high-quality group photo to bandsclash.davao@gmail.com. A raw band performance video in mp4 format must be included in the submission. The video should be shot using one steady camera that captures all members of the band. It should have a minimum length of two minutes and a maximum length of five minutes, showcasing the band’s performance of either a cover or an original song, or even a medley of songs.

The screening committee will determine the 20 bands that will battle for honors in the live competition performance.
