The official screening for the Reyna Dabawenya 2023 is set from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, at the Apo View Hotel.
Successful entries will vie for the Reyna Dabawenya 2023 crown during the coronation night that will take centerstage at the RMC Petro Gazz Arena on March 15, starting at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“Only 20 official candidates shall be chosen from the screening. They shall compete in the closed-door interview, talent competition, and coronation night,” according to the event guidelines.
The official contestants are obligated to participate in all pre-pageant events, including orientation, training, photo and video shoots, media presentations, rehearsals, guest appearances, and any other designated activities.
Applicants are expected to dress modestly and appropriately, avoiding overly revealing attire. The preferred attire is casual wear of any color, paired with high heels and light makeup.
Hopeful candidates should also bring with them a duly filled-out application form, recent colored photos (headshot 2X2, whole body 3R), proof of at least one-year residency (barangay certificate and/or school certificate); and a photocopy of PSA-certified birth certificate (bring an original copy).
Only one companion or assistant is allowed per applicant.
The search for Reyna Dabawenya 2023, one of the highlights of the 86th Araw ng Dabaw celebration, is open to all self-identified transgender women residing in Davao City for at least a year, and who meet the following criteria:
Must be 18 years old or above
Must have completed High School or Grade 10
Must possess good social and communication skills
Must be mentally and physically fit, must have good moral character and no criminal record
Must be knowledgeable about current issues, cultures, and traditions of Davao City
Must have an advocacy for social inclusion or related to the LGBTQ community.
