The City Government of Davao, through the City Information Office (CIO), on Wednesday morning launched its new morning show “Madayaw Davao.”
Streaming on the City Government of Davao and Madayaw Davao’s Facebook page, the show features news and updates from the city government, interviews with local officials, and discussions of current events.
Madayaw Davao will also provide information and real-time updates on the Serbisyo Caravan program— a weekly event held in different barangays around the city which provides access to public services such as medical check-ups, legal advice, and employment opportunities.
This new show is part of the CIO’s commitment to provide timely and accurate information to the residents of Davao City.
Hosted by CIO Officer-In-Charge Harvey Lanticse, media practitioners Sheillah Vergara-Rubio, Real Sorroche, and Derf Maiz, Madayaw Davao will stream live every Wednesday, from 7 to 8 a.m. and will be broadcasted on PTV Davao every Sunday, 10 to – 11 a.m.
The show will start off with weekly live episodes but will eventually transition into a daily morning show streaming live on the City Government of Davao Facebook Page.
Lanticse said that the show’s presence both online and in network TV platforms ensures that a wider audience will be reached.
“What’s good about this show is that it is not just concerned with public information because, at the same time, we will be bringing public services to the communities from where we will be broadcasting live,” said Lanticse.
“On top of that, the show’s format will highlight information on services that will enable Dabawenyos to maximize the benefits they are entitled to receive from the local government,” he added.
The CIO chief invites all Dabawenyos to tune in every Wednesday morning or catch the recap episode on PTV every Sunday.
“Among ginaawhag ang atong mga igsoon Dabawenyo nga suportahan Ug subaybayan ang atong bagong programa matag buntag aron ilang masayran ang pinaka-lastest na balita, impormasyon og serbisyo nga angay nilang mahibaw-an gikan sa city government of Davao (We are urging our fellow Dabawenyos to support and watch our new program every morning so they can stay updated on the latest news, information and services they need to know from the city government of Davao),” he said.
