The Davao City Business Bureau reported a 16 percent increase in the first five days of business renewal application.

Business Bureau head Maribel Paguican, in Monday’s (January 9) Madayaw Davao program aired via Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR), said: “In our first five days of operation, nindot kaayo ang resulta. Naka-generate ta og 13,806 applications, compared to last year’s five-day operation with 11,912. That means we have an increase of 1,894 (In our first five days of operation, the result was very good. We generated 13,806 applications, compared to last year’s five-day operation with 11,912. That means we have an increase of 1,894).”

She, however, said 19 percent or 2,648 out of the 13,806 have already paid. But comparing that to the target 50,000 applications, only five percent have paid.

“Sige lang, second week pa man basin duna pa’y improvement this week, hopefully, para malikayan ang influx sa tao sa ulahi nga mga adlaw (It’s okay, it’s still the second week, maybe there will be some improvement this week, hopefully, to avoid an influx of applicants nearing the deadline),” Paguican said, adding that applicants may register or renew their business permits at https://appbts.davaocity.gov.ph.

She called on business owners to use the online filing system as it is the safest way to renew their business permits in adherence to the no-contact policy of the law.

Otherwise, some illegal entities or fixers might try to intercept or block their way and lure them to avail of their illegal services.

“Para man gud ni malikayan ang pagpangilad sa katawhan. Mao pang nihit ang kwarta, mabiktima pa sa mga fixers (This is to prevent people from being scammed. Since money is scarce, they might fall victim to these fixers),” she added.

Satellite registration sites are also processing new business and business renewal applications, including the SP Building office in Poblacion areas, Almendras Gym for Talomo and Agdao districts, NCCC Buhangin for Buhangin district, Calinan Gym for Calinan district, and Baguio District Treasury Office for Baguio district.

The other sites are Marilog District Treasury Office, Paquibato Treasury Office, Toril District Treasury Office, Tugbok Treasury Office, Bunawan District Treasury Office, and Paquibato District Treasury Office.CIO
