The Pasko Fiesta Committee, through the Integrated Gender and Development Division, successfully awarded the best choral groups of Koro sa Pasko, a Choir Concert and competition for choral groups, last December 7, 2022, at the CAP Auditorium.

The winners in the five categories – Elementary, High School, College, Senior Citizen, and Community – were selected by the judges through their performances.

For the Elementary Category, the Tinig ng Maa Central Childrenā€™s Choir got the first place, Heavenā€™s Melodies Chorale from Davao City Special School got the second place, and the Little Singers came in third. The consolation prize was bagged by Pilar P. Rodriguez Integrated School.

For the High School Category, the Davao City National High School Centennial Choir bagged the first place, Denians Voice Ensemble bagged the second place, and the Cabantian National High School Campus Chorus bagged the third place. The Talomo National High School Choristers and the Bernardo D. Carpio National High School (BDCNHS) Harmonic Chorale also brought home the consolation prize.

For the College Category, the University of Immaculate Conception (UIC) Chorale was picked as the first place, the San Pedro College Chorale on second place, and the New Crusaders Chorale from the Holy Cross of Davao landed the third place. The Vox Chorale from the Davao Merchant Marine Academy (DMMA)College received the consolation prize.

For the Senior Citizen Category, the Mintal Seniorā€™s Team got the first place, the Sto. NiƱo group placed second and the Tigatto Senior Citizens Choir landed on third place.

For the Community-based, the Canticles placed first, La Chorda placed second, and the Davao Chronicle Singers placed third.

Reina Ureta, Developmental Manager at the Integrated Gender and Development in an interview with Byaheng Do30 December 7, said that the Koro sa Pasko this year is a significant comeback event.

Fryntz Flores, the conductor of the Tinig ng Maa Central Childrenā€™s Choir – in a separate interview also with Byaheng Do30,- said that the children did not miss their classes because they only practiced after school hours and every Saturday with their parent’s consent.
