The Davao City Library and Information Center resumed its regular schedule for the City Book Mobile Library for Elementary and High School after the Department of Education approved its request for a Monday-Thursday schedule in Elementary and High Schools within the city.

DCILC Head Salome Enoc, in an interview with the City Information Office, said that starting Monday, October 24, 2022, book reading, storytelling, and film viewing services will be accessed by elementary students, while basic disaster orientation will also be given to students in the secondary level.

ā€œKadtong September wala pataā€™y schedule kay ang schedule nag start October since nigawas na ang memo from DepEd allowing our request for a regular schedule (Last September we did not have a schedule and it only started in October since the memo from DepEd allowing our request for a regular schedule was issued),ā€ Enoc said.

On Monday, October 24, 2022, schools in Cabantian were the first recipients of the re-launch of the regular schedule of the mobile library.

Earlier, in response to the special request from the Daniel M. Perez Elementary School, the Davao City Book Mobile Library sent the mobile bus to Bunawan, Davao City to share life-saving knowledge and skills, as well as moral values with pupils on October 13, 2022.

The bookmobile team conducted various fun and educational activities for all the students of the school.

On the same day, two librarians shared their expertise in storytelling for pupils at the lower levels. To ensure participation and interaction, the storytellers made sure that the pupils maintained an interest in listening to the stories they prepared.

On the other hand, the higher levels engaged in actual disaster risk preparedness demonstrated by Mr. Arniel Enoc. The team also allowed the teachers and students to experience an actual fire scenario.

The bookmobile bus tour also allowed students to get into the bus and choose books to borrow.
