The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) gave Davao City high scores for the implementation of its peace, security, and development agenda aimed toward peaceful, orderly, and safe communities. Davao City earned a 95 percent compliance score for Calendar Year 2019, and 87.98 percent for Calendar Year 2021.
The recognition, which was part of the DILG’s Peace and Order Performance Audit for all Local Government Units (LGU), was given on June 28, 2022, at the Grand Regal Hotel, Lanang. It was signed by DILG Regional Director and Regional Peace and Order Council Head Secretariat Alex C. Roldan, CESO V, who cited the exemplary performance of the Davao City government in the conduct of the 2019 and 2021 Peace and Order Performance Audit held on May 26-27 2022.
Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) Head Angel Sumagaysay thanked the DILG for the award and gave the city government’s assurance to continue complying with the guidelines for the interest of the public and for client satisfaction.
“I-sustain lang nato ang security posture ng city ug constant communication sa mga members ng security and safety cluster. Pahugtan ang border security ug ang visibility ng mga uniformed personnel sa mga convergence areas. Maging partner sa mga stakeholders ug padayon ang propagation sa culture of security (We will sustain the security posturing of the city and the constant communication to the members of the security and safety cluster. We will heighten the border security and the visibility of the uniformed personnel in the convergence areas. We will also partner with the stakeholders for the continued propagation of the culture and security,” Sumagaysay said.
Recall that Mayor-elect Sebastian “Baste” Duterte during his inaugural speech on June 27, 2022, said that the continuation of the strengthened peace and order program of the city remains a priority of his administration. CIO
