Davao City has launched an online platform for requesting medical assistance under the Lingap Para sa Mahirap program making it accessible and contactless for Dabawenyos.

Those who want to avail of the Lingap assistance can now search for Lingap Para sa Mahirap on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/Lingap-Para-sa-Mahirap-106759601799006

Vincent Plarisan, the Officer-in-Charge of the Lingap Para sa Mahirap Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), in an interview with Byaheng DO30, said that all applications are submitted through the new platform, which opened last week, and will be received by social workers on standby.

“Dako kaayong nga bintaha sa atong kaigsuunan nga Dabawenyo kay dili na sila ma-hassle nga muadto dri sa office pwede na sila sa ilang balay or sa ilahang hospital as or kung asa man sila as long as kumpleto lang ilang documents. Pwede rapud nila i-upload lang sa ilang phone ang ilang documents and i-send lang pud nila sa Messenger (This is a big advantage to our fellow Dabawenyos and more convenient because they can do the transaction in their houses or in the hospitals or anywhere as long as they have complete documents. They can also upload their documents on their cellphones and send this through messenger),” Plarisan said

This online service is applicable for all types of Lingap assistance applications including hospital bills, funeral bills, dialysis treatment, medical and laboratory procedures, maintenance medication assistance, allotment assistance for prosthetics sensory and visual aids, and subsidies for reconstructive surgery for those with an orofacial cleft.

Eliza Dali-on, 57 years old, resident of Calinan District and a Lingap beneficiary said that she is thankful for the online Lingap for faster processing of the papers.

“Karon dako kaayo ko’g pasalamat kay naa nay online nga Lingap kay mas madali na ang pag-process sa mga papel (I am really thankful for this online Lingap because I can easily process the documents),” she said.
