The Davao City government will hold a test run of the QR code system and online arrival form for all passengers arriving at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport.
The test run scheduled from October 7 to 11, 2020, is in preparation for the mandatory submission of the online form and the QR code beginning October 12, 2020.
Through the online platform developed by the Davao City Information Technology Center (CITC), all passengers bound for Davao City will fill out the online form after they are issued boarding passes at the airport of origin. Each passenger will then be issued a unique QR code to be presented upon arrival at the Davao airport.
The new system is aimed at ensuring a no-contact and paperless recording of each arriving passenger.
This is also for a more efficient contact tracing of passengers who test positive of the coronavirus and others seated next to them.
āSince itās digital, the transmittal of cases found to be positive during the RT-PCR swab tests will be faster,ā said Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, the head of the Davao City Health Office.
The system will also make testing and assignment of holding facilities for the arriving passengers easier.
Villafuerte urged the cooperation of the arriving passengers as the system only aims to give them a more secure and safe arrival in Davao City. CIO
