To ensure security and safety, the City Government of Davao will issue new identification cards with a quick response (QR) code system and occupancy permit to vendors at the Roxas Night Market.
“For monitoring of the vendors in the night market, we will issue IDs from our office. It will have a QR code system so we can know and ensure that the vendors are the ones operating in their assigned stalls,” Paul Bermejo, Head of the Ancillary Services Unit said.
Last week, the Davao City Police implemented the ‘No ID, No Entry’ policy for those who would like to visit and dine at the night market. Bermejo stressed the importance of this action, especially with the recent bombing in Isulan last August 28 and September 2.
“We should see this as a welcome development, knowing that danger is just around the corner. It’s better to be safe and ready.” The ASU head also assured Dabawenyo visitors and tourists that the night market is secured by the authorities.
