The Davao City Business Bureau and Licensing Division has closed more than 200 market stalls for lack of business permits during separate inspections around the downtown area, Tugbok, and the Toril Public Market.
Business Bureau Chief Maribel Paquican said her office conducted inspections on August 7 and August 12 in three areas where around 245 stalls were ordered closed.
“On August 7, we have scheduled 24 closures in the downtown area while in the Tugbok area, we have 45. For the Toril Public Market, we ordered for the closure of more or less, 200 stalls without permits,” Paguican said.
Until the stall owners will not be able to secure any permits, Paguican said these stalls will remain closed until owners register and secure business permits.
“We encourage those who want to continue doing their businesses to really register because we really cannot allow you to operate without one,” she said.
The Business Bureau will continue monitoring small and big enterprises operating in the city to make sure that they all have the necessary documents to operate.
For those who would like to register their businesses, they may contact the Business Bureau for the requirements at 241-1000 local 381 or email at busbureau@davaocity.gov.ph . CIO
