A total of 54 Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI) who tried to enter the city via land trip or using another airport to skip quarantine protocols were intercepted by the Task force Davao within 24 hours from Saturday until Sunday.

Most of the intercepted individuals came from Luzon and some of them were passing by for other provinces, using Davao City as a gateway.

The new number of intercepted LSIs brought to 286 the number of persons, who had been stopped by the TF Davao in an attempt to bypass the RT PCR requirement. Of the total number, 140 are residents of the city while the rest were from other areas.

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said returning LSIs from the city, who tried to skip requirements, still had to undergo the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction RT-PCR test to determine if they are free of the coronavirus disease 2019. However, they are not priorities as of now.

As for those just passing by, they will be escorted to the borders by personnel of the City Transportation and Traffic Management Office to ensure that they will not deviate to other areas of the city.

ā€œMag hulat gyud sila sa sundo [sa land checkpoint]. Dili sila [ma] priority, because dili sila gikan sa Davao International Airport, mas madugay ang ilahang return,ā€ she said.

Those using the DIA as an entry point to other areas are subjected to Covid-19 test upon exit

A negative RT-PCR test result is necessary for all LSIs coming through the DIA and those passing by the city via the DIA. It is one of the requirements Mayor Inday had asked the Civil aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for. CIO
