The local government of Davao City has started sending non-residents, who had been stranded in the city due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), back to their respective areas â in coordination with their respective local government units.
Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said Davao City residents stranded in other parts of Mindanao may now also return home.
On Thursday, several residents of Davao Oriental and Occidental boarded buses and left the city for their provinces.
âUsually ang mahitabo man gud kay naga exchange ta og mga stranded. Dunay stranded na Davao City resident sa ilahang lugar dunay stranded gikan sa ilahang lugar dinhi sa Davao City,â she said over the city government-run Davao City Disaster Radio.
Mayor Inday said on Wednesday, five residents of Davao Oriental also went home to their province in exchange for two residents of Davao City who had been stranded there.
Twenty-one residents of Davao Occidental were also ferried back to their province on Thursday.
âToday (Friday), Davao Oriental nato today is 80 ang pauli, 25 padulong Davao Occidental and then duna tay niabot gikan USM upat kabuok and then sa Oriental pito kabuok and we have 17 kabuok gikan sa Mindanao State University,â she said.
Mayor Inday said for Davao City residents who are stranded in different parts of Mindanao, they are also allowed back to the city – even if they are riding their private cars.
However, upon returning, they have to undergo a 14-day quarantine and a screening for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) to be administered by the City Health Office. CIO
