Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has affirmed the effective implementation of the food and medicine pass number coding with lesser people seen on the streets compared to the past weeks.

ā€œKung paihapon ko nimo, gamay na lang ang tao gyud sa dalan karon (If you ask me to count, there were fewer people in the streets now),ā€ Mayor Sara said.

The mayor, who took the time to monitor the first days of the implementation of the FM pass number coding, said there were around 650,000 FM passes distributed to Dabawenyos through the barangays.

Given that sum, she said, a great number of people still have access to go outside, but recently, fewer people were seen on the streets.

She also hinted at the more visible law enforcers and checkpoints placed in strategic areas in the City.

A total of 22 fixed checkpoints were placed in the different areas in the city in addition to the random checkpoints. Of that number, 12 are located in the Covid-19 hotspot areas ā€“ Buhangin and Talomo districts.

Mayor Sara said people who have no valid reasons to be outside, were prevented at the checkpoints and were directed to go back home.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) tasked to implement the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) has started implementing the FM pass number coding on April 18, 2020. CIO
