The City Government of Davao has procured medical supplies for frontliners working in the battle against the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Davao City.
Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, in an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio on Friday night, said the medical equipment were purchased from China.
She said the medical supplies will help health workers of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), the main facility in the city that caters COVID-19 cases.
“Kani siya na mga supplies gipalit last week because nag report ang mga doctors especially sa SPMC nga kulang ang gamit kay mao ni sila atong frontline for COVID-19. (These supplies were bought last week after doctors at SPMC reported the lack of supplies of supplies. They are our frontliners for COVID-19,” she said.
SPMC is the main medical facility designated for Covid-19 patients.
Medical supplies procured by the city government included masks (surgical, N95, N90 dust cover) goggles, disposable surgical gloves (ordinary and for intensive care unit), and personal protective equipment (PPE) for ICU and ordinary use.
The PPEs, Mayor Inday said, will be turned over to SPMC.
Aside from SPMC, the supplies were also distributed to the City Health Office and barangay health centers.
Personnel from Task Force Davao and the Philippine National Police who are assigned at the checkpoints also received the supplies. CIO
