Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte assured the Dabawenyos the city has enough funds for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) response needs.

The response funds will come from the city’s Peace and Order Fund and the Crisis Intervention Fund, said Mayor Sara, who almost regularly goes on air to update Dabawenyos about the city’s response to Covid-19.

“Kanang duha [Peace and Order Fund and the Crisis Intervention Fund] ang atoang sources sa atoang mga ginahimo na mga lakang diri sa siyudad sa Davao (Those two-Peace and Order Fund and the Crisis Intervention Fund are our sources for our measures in the city),” she said.

The mayor assured that the two fund sources are enough to support the Covid-19 operations. She recalled that the city’s Peace and Order Fund has one of the biggest appropriations of the annual budget.

Mayor Sara, however, added that the city will still reserve a budget exclusive for other possible calamities like earthquakes, typhoons, and other emergency occurrences. CIO
