The Davao City government has stopped the operation of one tour agency after this has been found operating without a business permit and other requirements.

City Tourism Officer Gene Rose Tecson said the tour organized by Princess Adventours for Bukidnon was intercepted by the CTOO personnel and the Business Bureau ‪Saturday evening‬.

Tecson said that the travel operator entices clients through Facebook.

“They insisted that their permits are under process (but) that should not be the case. They need to have permits first before they can operate,” Tecson clarified.

Tecson said that based on the records of the Business Bureau, Princess Adventours has not applied for a permit.

“The Business Bureau doesn’t have any record of them. The van that they are using is also colorum,” she said.

Tecson warned the CTOO will will file charges against Princess Adventours unless it complies with the necessary requirements.

The tourism officer has noted that the city government has been calling on tour operators, including those using online platforms, to secure permits before accepting or offering travel and tour-related services and selling packages.

“We will continue also to inspect and go after other online tour operators,” Tecson said.CIO
