The yearly feast on lechon baka continues to be a hit during Araw ng Davao as over 5,000 Dabawenyos trooped to C.M Recto Street to line up for “Kumbira sa Davao”.

Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said the lechon baka is a ‘gift’ to the Dabawenyos from the Filipinong may Puso Foundation every year.

Mayor Sara said the partnership of the city government and the Filipinong may Puso Foundation is a great blessing with the latter’s unfading support to all the city’s activities including the Kumbira in which 50 lechon baka are served to the people of Davao.

“This is considered as a blessing to us, Dabawenyos, because not all cities and provinces who celebrate their charter days have something like this,” the Mayor said.

Aside from the lechon baka, lechon manok was also served to the public alongside with the 4,900 grocery packs from the Filipinong may Puso foundation.

“We are thankful to the Filipinong may Puso foundation for their support and generosity to the city,” Sara said.

Kumbira started at 12:00 noon and ended at around 1:45 PM. CIO
