The City Government of Davao on Monday awarded the winners of the month-long sports fest of employees that took place in September.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod became the overall champion having garnered 81 points. The City Mayorâs Office emerged as the first runner-up with a total of 66 points; the City Engineerâs Office came in second with a total of 64 points; and the City Assessor’s Office finished as third runner-up with a total of 34 points.
The games included basketball, volleyball, dart, fun run, badminton, bowling, cheer dance, Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest, Aero Marathon, and Larong Pinoy.
Davao City Vice Mayor J. Melchor Quitain, in his speech, congratulated those who participated in the activities, saying that the awarding is but a part of what each of the employees earned during the sports fest.
âThe main thing that we get out of this is, of course, the camaraderie we experienced,” Quitain said.
In his speech read by Quitain, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte said that he extends his warmest congratulations to the organizers who made this yearâs City Government Employeeâs Sports Fest successful.
The mayor said he is confident that through the sports fest, the exceptional talents of the employees were showcased and that the events also promoted sportsmanship and camaraderie
