To ensure the successful implementation of resettlement services to informal settlers affected by the establishment of the Regional Government Center (RGC), the City Government of Davao issued Executive Order (EO) No. 26, Series of 2023, on Friday, creating a Local Inter-Agency Committee (LIAC) for the development of the RGC.

The development of the RGC in Barangay Bago Oshiro aims to provide the constituents of Davao City, as well as neighboring provinces, with efficient and effective public service in one convenient location.

Under the order, the committee is mandated to formulate a comprehensive resettlement action plan (RAP) and to ensure that the RAP is successfully implemented.

It is also the LIAC’s responsibility to facilitate the orderly, peaceful, and humane resettlement of families to their permanent housing.

The committee will be chaired by the city mayor while the National Housing Authority XI serves as the vice-chairperson.

The committee will be composed of members from government agencies with assigned lots in the RGC; Philippine National Police Regional Office XI; Barangay Council of Bago Oshiro; City Engineer’s Office; City Social Welfare and Development Office; Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator – Housing and Homesite Development Division; City Legal Office; Public Safety and Security Office; City Assessor’s Office; and Office of the City Building Official.

To assist the LIAC in the discharge of its function and perform other secretarial duties, the Housing and Homesite Development Division of the City Planning and Development Office shall be the secretariat.

Funding for the committee will be sourced from the available funds of the City Government of Davao and the contributions of the government agencies in the RGC.
