The Davao City Investment Promotion Center (DCIPC) said that more foreign businesses are interested in investing in the city.
Ms. April Marie Dayap, DCIPC Officer-in-Charge, pointed out that compared to the previous years, more foreign investors have shown interest in the city, including European and Chinese businesses.
Following the 5th anniversary of the Davao-Jinjiang sister city accord, Dayap said the city of Zhangzhou, one of the delegates that attended the said event, has expressed interest to Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte to establish a partnership as a twin park city.

Dayap also mentioned that during the sisterhood agreements, there were around 40 businessmen who were part of the delegation from China. Ten of them were from Jinjiang City, including the CEO of 361 Degrees sports company, Anta Sports Products Limited, and Xingye Leather Technology. There were also 28 businessmen from Fujian with the notable presence of Pan Pan Food.
The DCIPC also said that included in the area of interests of investors are service industries, wherein there are already businesses that had pledged to invest in the city; the agribusiness industry, especially with the demand for Durian in the Chinese market; and the food manufacturing industry.
