The Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) has prepared guidelines for the security cluster in connection with the activities related to the Kadayawan 2023 events as it pushes for proper lighting for the night events.

“Naa ta’y mga adjustments particularly yung request natin sa Davao Light and Power Company na dapat walang brownout kung pwede tan-awon pud kadtong mga non-operational streetlights, in fact, gisubmit na namin yung number ng non-operational streetlights in the whole of Davao City para maayos nato na siya (We have adjustments and particularly we have requested the Davao Light and Power to ensure that there will be no power outage and to also check non-operational streetlights, in fact, we already submitted the number of non-operational streetlights in the whole Davao City so that we can repair it),” PSSO Head Angel Sumagaysay said during the I-Speak media forum on Thursday.

He said that the PSSO has crafted guidelines and considerations that it discussed with the core group, especially the Davao City Police Office and Task Force Davao.

He added that the city already has a template security plan for big events and the changes in the time of the Kadayawan from morning to afternoon.

“Naka template naman gud ta, In-place naman gyud ang security. It is only a matter of adjusting our personnel para ma-secure nato ang whole area (We already have a template and our security is in place. It is only a matter of adjusting our personnel to secure the city),” he said.

PSSO has also conducted the first security and safety meeting for the Kadayawan 2023 and they based their deployment on the official activities. However, he said that they are also waiting for the Kadayawan Execom-accredited activities so they could also prepare security personnel for these events. CIO
