The City Government of Davao, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), distributed on Thursday, June 15, 2023 food packs to individuals and families affected by the June 13 wind channeling or strong winds in Barangay 23-C.
The distribution took place at the Barangay 23-C Gym.
CSWDO Poblacion B District Head Gina Molon, in an interview with the City Information Office on Friday, said that on June 14, they validated a total of 164 affected house owners, 11 renters, and seven sharers. In all, the total number of affected families is 182.
“We have two partially damaged meaning 50 percent of the structure was damaged and their financial assistance is being processed, “Molon said.
Based on the report from CSWDO, the wind channeling took place around 12:10 a.m. on June 13, 2023, and caused damage to establishments and houses made of light materials.
Based on the final assessment, the estimated cost of damage is Php 1, 448,000.00.
Molon said that no casualties or injured persons were recorded.
All of the families who temporarily stayed in their other shelters were able to return to their residences and conducted repairs. CIO
