A total of 5,574 jobs from 47 local and overseas employers will be open to applicants during the Kalayaan Job Fair on June 12 (Monday) at the SM City Davao Annex.
Spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment XI (DOLE XI), the Kalayaan Job Fair is part of a nationwide simultaneous activity to be held in celebration of the country’s 125th Independence Day.
DOLE XI-Davao City Field Office Administrative Officer V Lorraine Grace Ugsang, during the I-Speak Media Conference on Thursday, invited all applicants to participate in the job fair which they now modified to become more streamlined.
“We have been conducting this job fair for more than 10 years and the processes are still the same. However, we try to be more efficient in the delivery of kadtong sa traffic sa applicants during the job fair,” Ugsang said.
Locally, a total of 2,867 jobs from 38 employers are open.
Ugsang said the Logistics, BPO, and Wholesale/Retail sectors are among the top hiring industries this year.
“Last year, most of our vacancies are for customer service representatives. But for the first half of 2023, the highest number of vacancies will be for sales consultants,” Ugsang said.
The top job vacancies in these sectors are for delivery drivers (505 vacancies), sales representatives (155), and Customer Service Representative (150).
For jobs overseas, there are 2,707 jobs from nine international employers. Cleaners, registered nurses, and welders are among the most in-demand with 500, 210, and 150 vacancies, respectively.
Ugsang said that around 10 to 20 percent of these job vacancies are filled through the job fair.
The DOLE XI will also conduct a Child Labor Awareness Program at the Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao Auditorium on the same date. CIO
